Burgeoning Bark by acutely Burgeoning Bark by acutely
There are several of these trees near my house, but this was the only instance of the flower growing out of the tree trunk. I like the contrast of the delicate flower and coarse bark.

(Identified by :iconrealityhelix: as a Redbud Tree.)

Pretty, I was almost going to say "its good because theres a great contrast of the young, delicate flowers, and the rough, old bark" but it seems you realised that already :)

It's a redbud. They do that sometimes, where a twig or branch has broken off, or where there has been a wound in the bark.

Is it the tree's flower or is it a parasitic plant? Looks cool either way.

It's actually the tree's flower :)
