Desert Delight by acutely Desert Delight by acutely
Part of the Sonoran Desert near Scottsdale, Arizona. Caught a Staghorn Cholla cactus silhouetted in the morning light in the foreground, with desert Spring flowers in the background. The yellow flower is Brittlebrush and the red one appears to be Chuparosa.

(Thanks to :iconroocat: & :iconpatgoltz: for the flower identification.)

Hey, what are you doing in my yard? Actually, I'm a fair piece south of where you were. That is a staghorn cholla. I can't see enough detail to tell you what the red things are but you might ask =PatGoltz as she is familiar with a lot of the AZ wildflowers.

 Thanks, I'll update the description and see if Pat knows the red flower. :)

:D You are welcome. The red ones are not one I normally see at my elevation - over twice that of Scottsdale. I only have pomegrantes and ocotillos in non-cacti red flowers. Actually, you might find them just doing a red flower search of Pat's gallery - with or without asking her. It does look like my land without the reds in there. I have lots of staghorn, buckhorn and chain-fruit chollas as well as prickly pears and saguaros, not to mention hedgehogs and pincushions. ;)
